  1. A motorcycle or motorbike is a two-wheeled 
  2. vehicle propelled by a petrol engine. The 
  3. first successful motorized bicycle was built 
  4. in France 1901, and British and US 
  5. manufacturers first produced motorbikes in 
  6. 1903. The first really successful two-wheel 
  7. design was devised by Michael and Eugene 
  8. Werner in France 1901. They adopted the 
  9. classic motorcycle layout with the engine low 
  10. down between the wheels.
